From the ground up; how the great white wines of Burgundy are born!
Rendez-vous at the Oenothèque Joseph Drouhin, 1 Cour du Parlement, (GPS address: Place du General Leclerc) 21200 BEAUNE. From here we will depart south of Beaune directly into the vineyards along small, winding roads, driving through Pommard and Volnay until we arrive at the villages from which are born the great white wines of Burgundy; Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet.
During our excursion you will learn about viticulture in Burgundy, notions of ‘terroir', the appellation system and the history of viticulture in our region. We will, of course make a halt at the famous 'Montrachet' Grand Cru parcel.
On the way back to Beaune, we will stop off at our Beaune 'Clos des Mouches' - the flagship wine of the Drouhin house, to look at this legendary parcel.
On returning to Beaune, you will then benefit from a private tour through the labyrinth of our historical cellars, followed by a tasting of our emblematic wines.
