Join us for a 'surprise' wine tasting

Make the most of your Saturday morning in Beaune to take a stroll around the beautiful market, filled with fresh produce from local producers and artisans, followed by a tour of our cellars and then a tasting.

Saturday morning is a magical time to be in Beaune. The streets are filled with market stalls, and there is a vibrant feeling in the streets. Pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables, cheese, patés and fresh crusty bread, or be tempted by the many stalls selling clothing, wicker baskets, carved wooden objects or even antiques!

Just a step away is our Oenotheque, from where we will embark on a fabulous voyage through time. These historical cellars cover approximately 1 hectare in the historical centre of Beaune (next door to Notre-dame Church), having belonged to the Canons of Beaune, the Dukes of Burgundy and the Kings of France.  You will also discover with amazement roman remnants which are nearly 2000 years old.

Following the tour of the cellars, you will have a tasting of a selection of our wines, including bottles not usually open for tasting. The can include, Grand Crus, old vintages, bottles from the family's reserve cellar, but also wines that may be lesser known and which you would not normally be acustomed to drinking. This tasting changes every week; so come with an open mind and let us surprise you!

The programme:

-10.00 am Rendez-vous at the Oenothèque Joseph Drouhin for a Discovery of the ancient cellars (13th century) of the Maison Joseph Drouhin which cover more than 2 acres beneath the historical centre of Beaune.

- Following the visit you will taste a 'surprise' selection of our wines.
