30 years in Oregon ... the consecration of a dream
For the occasion of the 30 years of our American dream, The Oenothèque Joseph Drouhin is offering a unique dinner on the theme of:
"Menu and wines from Oregon"
Saturday the 8th of July 2017 starting at 7.30 pm
In 1961 Robert Drouhin discovered the terroir and the wines of Oregon.
quickly he became enamoured with this region rich in vegetation; the
beauty of its landscapes and the authentic family values of its population. In
1986 Véronique Drouhin decided to complete her Oenology studies in
Oregon, in order to become familiar with this new terroir and
to understand its subtleties. Following this experience Veronique
remained admirative of the potential of this region.
The adventure began in
1987 when the Drouhin house became the owner of 90 hectares; of which 50
hectares were devoted to the production of wine: Pinot Noir (90%) and Chardonnay (10%).
Situated 40 Km
south of Portland in the Dundee Hills that are part of the Willamette
Valley, the hills are facing east with their back to the Pacific Ocean ...
property boasts a fabulous view of the valley and the Mount Hood Volcano.
